The fire initially was dispatched as a mattress fire, and Fredonia Fire crews found an uncontrollable bedroom fire rapidly progressing through the structure.  Fredonia crews then initiated an interior attack.  The cause of the fire was determined as careless lighting of a candle.  The neighboring structures received minor smoke and water damage.
